Mitra Sumara is a NYC-based Farsi funk band that performs music from 60s/70s Iran. We play your favorite hits by Googoosh, Hayedeh, Zia, Aghassi, and many others!
The band’s musicians are among New York City’s top players of rock, pop, Broadway, and jazz.
Mitra Sumara has performed at the Smithsonian Freer Sackler Galleries and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. The group has also performed in various NYC venues such as National Sawdust, Brooklyn Bowl, Alwan for the Arts, Le Poisson Rouge, Cafe Nadery, and Barbes.
Mitra Sumara is available for hire for weddings, bar mitzvahs, holiday parties, and other private events.
